Case study Vrielmann
On a joint mission for the digital future of electricity grids
Energy supply is becoming increasingly complex – decentralized feed-in points, changing power flow directions, and the integration of wind and solar parks, e-mobility charging infrastructure, heat pumps, battery storage, and more present major challenges for grid operators.
Together with Vrielmann GmbH, we are driving innovative solutions forward. As an electrical systems’ manufacturer, Vrielmann takes on system integration and project planning, while Horstmann GmbH provides state-of-the-art components.
A highlight of our collaboration: The implementation of the ComPass B 2.0 short-circuit and earth-fault indicator in an existing substation. This digital system enables:
✅ Real-time monitoring of the grid
✅ Precise fault location for short circuits and earth faults
✅ Predictive maintenance
✅ Reduced service and repair costs
The result: higher grid availability, transparent grid structures and better planning for the future.
